DEMENTIA
Memory loss. Memory lapse. Memory slowness. Slowed movements, balance walking issues. Dementia is a term describing declining brain function and cognition. These aging symptoms and advance premature aging symptoms appear as the same question being asked repeatedly. Suddenly lost from memory is an everyday familiar place. Clinically, Dementia is a progressive organic mental disorder characterized by deterioration of brain function and intellectual capacity. Confusion, mental stupor and loss of memory control occur. The personality of the person disintegrates while an impairment of judgment leads to uninhibited impulses acted out.
Dementia is defined as a steep decline in two or more cognitive abilities. Cognitive abilities are the mental functions/skills we utilize to perceive, remember, think, communicate, and impulse control.
Dementia is not always Alzheimer’s Disease. Most dementias are a combination of more than one kind of Dementia.
Progressive and degenerative dementia can be slowed and partially reversed enough to better enjoy improved mental cognition and better motor neuro control.
